Script Error in Outlook Today after installation of Outlook Integration for JIRA

Problem

After installing the Outlook Integration for JIRA, you get the following error:

An error has occurred in the script on this page
Initialize Page is undefined Code: 0

The error occurs on Windows 7 and Windows 10 clients.

The error occurs with our customized Outlook Today page as well as with the standard Outlook Today. After deinstallation of Outlook Integration for JIRA the error disappears.

Solution

Open the windows registry (REGEDIT.EXE) and go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE of Mass Deployment Installer).
Delete the entry OUTLOOK.EXE

The registry entry cares for rendering Jira content within the embedded browser of our Add-In by using Internet Explorer 11 (Hex: 00002af8) instead of Outlook’s default Internet Explorer version (i.e. 7)
